David Leroy Schreiner

David was a longtime resident of Colorado. He lived outside of Brighton for 42 years. David was born on January 12, 1935 to Jake and Christina Schreiner. He grew up in Longmont, CO and worked at Sugar Factory. Later, David joined the Army and was eventually deployed to serve in the Korean War. David married Patricia Perry on July 25, 1958 and in 1960 they welcomed their daughter Sherri Ann. In 1963 they welcomed their son David Leroy Jr. Throughout most of his adult life, he worked as an Iron Worker until he retired. David loved hunting, fishing, camping, and playing his guitar while singing. He was known for his iron work and loved making many things out of iron. David loved being with his family and getting to spend time with his great grandchildren, who all called him Great Papa.

David is preceded in death by his mother Christina Schreiner and father Jake Schreiner, 12 brothers and sisters, wife Patricia, grandson Justin Haffner, and great granddaughter Trinity Moore. David is survived by daughter Sherri (Jerry) Haffner, Son David Jr. (Tausha), grandson Jason (Lacee) Haffner, granddaughters Trisha (Conrad) Moore and Jacklyn (Josh) Davison, great grandchildren Alexander Sparks, Christos Sparks, Faith Davison, Ariana Trinidy, Haisley Haffner, Trace Haffner, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Longmont United Hospital for their dedication to Dave and the care they provided him before his passing.

A visitation for David will be held Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229. A funeral service will occur Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229. A graveside service will occur Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229.
