Dolores was born on October 28, 1928, in the small town of Delagua, Colorado, to her proud parents, Louis and Herlinda Castellano, who preceded her in death. Her Lord called her home on October 30, 2019, when she passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Northglenn, Colorado. Married on July 5, 1947, Dolores and Alex Sandoval (who preceded her in death in May, 2005) enjoyed nearly 58 years of life together. A loving mother, Dolores is survived by her six children, Alex (Dana) Sandoval, Jerry (Janice) Sandoval, Mark (Nancy) Sandoval, Sophie (Steve Apodaca) Sandoval, Michael Sandoval, and Tom Sandoval (Dodie Sale). Dolores was blessed to have 13 grandchildren, Eli Sandoval, Cory Francis, Chris (Victoria) Francis, Jamie (Chris) Winkler, Erin (Connor) Grim, Nicholas Pounders (preceded in death 2018), Ryan (Alexx) Pounders, Ross and Brooke Apodaca, Lindsey and Stephanie Sandoval, Jack and Lily Sale, as well as three great grandchildren, little Alex Sandoval (who entered Heaven in 2005), Mason and Logan Winkler, and was also joyously anticipating her first great granddaughter in January, 2020, from Erin and Connor Grim. She and her five siblings were very close, and she is survived by her brother, Larry (Geri) Castellano. She was also a wonderful, caring Aunt to many. A loyal and comforting friend to all, she will be greatly missed by both her family and those who had the privilege of being a part of her life.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Thank you so much for the great meals and hospitality over the years. We meant a great deal to you because we were Tom's friends. You meant a great deal to us because you were so kind and giving. I will never forget when I challenged you to make extra spicy food. It hurt and almost brought me to tears but I can truly say it was delicious and I've never had anything like that since!! Rest in peace Dolores.

We're grateful we got to know Dolores, Alex and the family. For over 20 years they have place confidence in us regarding their finances. But more importantly they befriended us, always making us feel like family.
We will deeply miss Dolores. She always had a smile and a cup of coffee for me. I'm going to miss our kitchen table appointments with her and Alex Jr. She was the glue that kept the family together. I know she's in heaven looking down and saying I'm OK but still hard to let someone as sincere as her go. We love you Dolores and we will never forget you.

LO-LI-TA! To the Sandoval family; your mom and grandmother was one of the most important people, that I was most fortunate to have ever met. I will treasure my time I spent with her. Dolores made me feel like her son and I loved her like a mom. So many wonderful memories that I will treasure. My condolences to all who loved my LO-LI-TA.
