I was so sorry to learn of Dorie's passing. I have so many fond memories of working with her at Kemp Elementary. She was always upbeat and did her job with a smile--and sometimes a grimace! She was a friend and a co-worker, and those do not always go together.
I taught Kindergarten, and she was always available when one of the students needed attention. There was always the regular occurrence of lice, and she checked each child with a smile for them. Then, we would check ourselves too--with a smile!
She is very much a part of my Kemp memories.

Momma, today we said our goodbyes 😔. I hope you were happy with your services. You looked so beautiful,so peaceful. My 💖 skips a beat with the very thought of never hearing your voice or seeing your face and never feeling your touch.😔. This day was even harder then the day we lost our father. Thank you for being my best friend my confidant and most of all thank you for being my MOMMA.

I worked with Dorie at the bowling alley for about 3 years and in that time I got to know her and my best memory was when we would sit in the office and talk about my kids, her kids and grandkids, or just gossip about what was going on at the center.
I loved her sass and how she rarely minced words about anything, it always made me laugh and I respected her for not being afraid to speak her mind.
Dorie, I hope you have peace and I will miss our talks. I hope to fill your shoes at Westy and do justice to the job you did so well.
Your friend,
Debbie

😭 Mom I want you to know no matter how hard this road is going to be, I'm going to get down it, and I'm going to do it right. I never grieved for Dad appropriately and I don't intend to do the same for you I'm going to make sure you know that every bit of Heartache , pain and worry I put you through, was not my intention. And I wont let it be for nothing !! You were the very epitome of what it means to be a mother you were the best mom anyone could ever ask for and I am so grateful to be able to say that you were my mom!!!😄You'll Always Be In My Heart &Thought's

Dorrie was such a kind and gentle woman. When I was a kid she treated me with kindness and compassion everytime I visited the nurse's office. I had trouble fitting in and being sick staying in her office made me feel better l, even if I wasn't really sick. She made friends with my parents that way as well. Later on, she worked at the high school. I remember she even shown that same kindness when I got my thumb stuck in an a turtle's mouth. Here I was this tough high school kid l, defeated by a turtle and needing Dorrie to save me from, yep, that turtle. That's how I remember Dorrie. The kind woman who helped people of all ages.

I was so sorry to hear about Dorie. What a sweet and loving woman she was. She lived across the street from us on Niagara. I can’t recall the year, but I know that it was around the time that Kelley was born.
I was 4 years younger than Dorie, so at times she acted like an older sister to me. Several of the kids in the neighborhood would hang out at her house. She had a great sense of humor.
With deepest sympathies from the Grumbein family.

I ve known Dorie for many years, everytime she would say hello with a smile, what can i do for you? Many times we just like to talk, asked each other about our bowling, fill each other in on the alley news, always a great helper, behind the counter and on the lanes would give me headsup about any awards that i was receiving.
Had a chance to bowl league with her and Noel, just a very nice couple, after bowling there since 1980, had so many fond memories with her, i felt special, not just another bowler, she will be missed by all, just a great lady, RIP Dorie
