I awake each morning to start a new day but the pain of loosing you never goes away. I go about the things I need to do and as the hours pass I think again of you. I want to call you just to hear your voice then I remember that I have no choice for you are not here and now my heart cries just to see you again to tell you I love you and always will and hope that much of you, in me you've instilled. The day that you left I just didn't know that you were going where I couldn't go. And now all of my memories of you are so dear but gosh, how I miss you and wish you were here. Someday I know all will be well and I'll see you again with stories to tell of how you were missed and how good it is to finally be home. Until then my memories of you I'll keep near and pass them on to those who are dear.

I loved Dort like she was my aunt. I remember all the happy summers we all spent together at Grand Lake having potlucks and cooking breakfast out up in "The Park." I miss her laugh and her big smile.

Aunt Dort will surely be missed...she was a great person...I. always enjoyed the time that I spent with her and uncle Pete...she is in good hands now with my Memaw and Dusty...Rest in Peace..Aunt Dort...

I remember when Dort worked at the May Co. & her love of shoes. She would sneak them in & when put would put them on (some time later) mama would say "mor shoes?" Dort said "I've had these for a while", I lined them up around our huge walk in closet once & they went all the way around. Imiss her.

Aunt Dort was such a fun, happy, loving aunt with the best laugh!. We will miss her but will keep all the wonderful family memories we had with her close to us. She is in a wonderful place now with her loved ones.  Rest in Peace.

Most Precious Dear Loving Mother 

I held her hand and spoke softly 
As she slowly faded away.
The things I prayed she needed 
To once again hear me say. 
Most precious, dear loving, Mother 
We'll be together, again some-day. 
I told her I will always remember 
The many times she pulled me through.
That I couldn't have made it without her. I prayed she would know I was speaking the truth. 
I didn't want to give her up because 
I needed her here with me still.
But I wouldn't try to hold her back 
For the Father, had spoken His Will. 
Her eyes were closed for sometime now 
Her breathing, so shallow.
I could feel the weight in my chest 
As I spoke the last words to her.
I could only watch, as she took her last breath. 
My tears are still flowing.
The heartache refuses to go away 
But I know we'll be united in Heaven 
And never more to stray. 
I held her hand and spoke softly 
As she slowly faded away.

We'll be together, again someday.

Dorothy was a devoted Mother, Wife and Daughter. She was also devoted to the church, as was her Mother and Father. Her life was filled with joy and wonderful family experiences. Her family will miss her terribly but they know she is now with Pete, "Mama and Daddy", Evelyn, Mavis and all the rest who went before her. May she rest in peace.

We will miss Aunt Dort.  What special memories we have of the "trailer days".   Erich and John loved fishing from Bapa's deck into the Norman lake.  She always had a smile and loved life.

So sorry to hear of your loss but I know now she is content and in the best place.
