Dorothy Anita Petty

Dorothy A. Petty, 87, of Henderson, Colorado, went to be with her Lord on October 20, 2023. Dorothy was born and raised in Harrisburg, Arkansas. Dorothy lived in Jackson, Missouri until moving to Colorado in 1999.

Dorothy loved to spend her time with her two children and the outdoors. She especially loved spending time exploring the Colorado Mountains and attending to her gardens. Dorothy was a kindhearted person and was always ready to help those around her.

Dorothy is survived by loving daughter, Leah Petty of Henderson, Colorado; former daughter-in-law, Theresa Hamilton of Pueblo, CO; her former husband, Roy Petty and step-daughter Carla Shirley, both of Arkansas. Dorothy is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews and caring friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved son, R. Scott Petty of Pueblo, Colorado; her parents, John and Juliet Yarbro and her loving six sisters and three brothers.

At her request, there will be cremation with no services.

In lieu of food and flowers, donations may be made to the local chapters of the National Kidney Foundation or Donate Life America.
