Two words immediately spring to mind with the spark of his name - Uncle Dwight they are laughter and mirth.   His mere presence in the room announced loud and clear his nickname Sunny' (Sonny)  a reflection his indomitable spirit.  
We shared his father's namesake as well as a secret camaraderie and host to many laughs amongst the midsts of teaming women at family gatherings.  He will always remain in my heart as he did in those times we shared together as: my ally, my friend, my brother and a cousin of sorts as well as a surrogate father when the occasion arose.   I often thought he must be a wonderful father!
Although life didn't give us the chance to know one another more, I am blessed to have had him in my life.   Like one of those sparklers on the fourth of July, I picture his spirit- crackling with spontaneity and joyous.
My thoughts and heart go out to all who loved him and especially his dearest family and friends  during this time of great loss of one enduring spirit  aka  Uncle Sunny.

Dear Darrell & family; I first met Dwight when he first moved to Denver in the early 1960's.  I will always remember how gracious and kind Dwight was towards me after the loss of my father at age 17. He mentored me and took me on many memorable hunting trips.  I will be forever grateful for his kindness and direction he showed me in my early years which evolved into a lifelong relationship with him even after I moved to Alaska.  He visited Alaska on several occasions and we had many enjoyable fishing trips and evenings around the table. Dear Laura & Darrell,

When we lose a loved one here on earth, we gain an angel in heaven that watches over us. May you take comfort in knowing that you have an angel to watch over you now.  May fond memories of your father bring you comfort during this difficult time in your life.  We hope you can look back on all the good memories you were able to have and smile at the fact that you were able to share these before he passed away.  We extend our most sincere condolences.
