I'm Ed's cousin Sharon. His mother Margaret Stoeckly Ryland was my mother Ruth's older sister.  My memories of Ed go back to the 1952 Stoeckly Family Reunion in Denver. I was eight years old, and we had a long drive down from the small remote town of Popler, Montana, to the big city of Denver.  It was such a thrill to meet my two big high school cousins Ed and Errol. I really looked up to them. (My two brothers Jim and John are younger than I.) We did some fun things, including going to a big-time baseball game, and Elitch Gardens amusement park. I had never been on a roller coaster. Uncle Enos had to hold me tight, as I was a bit scared.  We also saw a motorcade pass by with General Eisenhower during his run for the Presidency.

Ed was a wonderful cousin. I really appreciate his long and distinguished association with the Boy Scouts. (My father and brothers were Boy Scouts, and my mother, sister and myself were Girl Scouts. Scouting definitely had a big influence on our lives.) 

Ed - your family and many friends really miss you;  but we are glad at least to have the best of memories which remain.  - Sharon



I had the privilege of working with Ed in the traffic department at APS for several years. We became good friends. In 1991 Ed showed me how to set up my budget to better control my money. A system my wife and I still use to this day. He often told me that I reminded him of his own son. Rest in peace my friend.
