Edwin Ullmer

Edwin (Ed) Ullmer of Westminster, Colorado passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on February 7th, 2024 at the age of 82. He was born on June 8th, 1941 in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, where he grew up. He graduated from Fair Lawn High School in 1959 and went on to Upsala College for a bachelor’s degree, and finally graduated from the University of Arizona in 1975 with a master’s degree. He was a lifelong champion for the importance of higher education. He was an avid reader and lifelong learner, and he truly loved his work as a professional geologist.

Ed worked as a geologist in both mineral exploration and environmental geology. His work took him across the globe – from all over North America to South America, Africa, Europe, and Asia.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Sr. and Anna Ullmer, and his close cousin, Patricia Barrows. He is survived by his wife Noreen Ullmer; his children Daniel, Jennifer, and Wendy; and by his grandchildren, Chloe and Neil Walsh.
