Born January Second 1945 in Springfield, Colorado. He was the thirteenth child out of fourteen- and the last surviving child. His Father was John Wesley Jones Jr. and his Mother was Nellie Jewell Blankenship Jones. He had eight sisters and 5 Brothers. They were raised in Colorado and Missouri.
Ernest and Rita were married December 27th, 1964 just before he shipped out to Vietnam. He returned home in June 1966; he was an MP in the Army. Ernest and Rita had three children, Tammy Jewell – married Peter Jensen, Darrin Ray Sr. and Robin Renee. He had six Grand children Lonnie married Bridgett Jensen, Ashley Jones and Jack, Darrin Ray Jones Jr. - married Tamra, Dustin Merryman, Trevor Jones, and Meriah Merryman. He had Eleven Great Grandchildren, Alexander, Cloe, Josiah, Braxton, Shyanne, Angelina, Dayton, Aviyonna, Marques, Madison and Joseph.
Our Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather went Home to be with our Lord on November Fifth, 2025. He will be missed Greatly and Always.
