

Gene was the youngest child of five born to Carl and Sadie Kloke in Madison, Nebraska. He played the drums in the Madison High School marching band and after graduation played semi-professionally in a band in Omaha. Gene also served in the National Guard Army Reserve. In 1958 he married Carol Snodgrass and worked in sales at a veterinary supply company. Moving to Denver in 1972, he was especially proud in the 1980’s to have served in the Westminster Sunrise Lions Club as a member and as the President. In 1996 he switched careers and became the proud owner of Autoworks International Collision Repair in Englewood and in 2003 at a second location in Thornton.
Gene is survived by his wife Brenda Cathcart-Kloke; daughter Kyla (Tony) McAlpine, granddaughters Katelyn, Aimee, and Jessica (Danny) Opitz, great grandson Aaron; son Keith (Kathy) Kloke, grandchildren Kurtis Ross, Karah, and great granddaughter Seyluh; stepsons Jim and Jerry Cathcart; and stepdaughter Jamie Cathcart; brother Joe Kloke, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Foundation or Make A Wish Foundation.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021 beginning at 1:00pm at Olinger Highland Mortuary located at 10201 N. Grant Street (104th Avenue and I-25) in Thornton, Colordo 80229. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.olingerhighland.com for the Kloke family.
