Evelyn L. Gingery

1920 ~ 2012

Evelyn was born June 22, 1920 in Tomahawk, Wisconsin. She passed away peacefully July 17, 2012 at 7:32am MST in Parker, Colorado at Assured Assisted Living House #7.

Upon graduation from highschool Evelyn attended nursing school in Chicago, IL where she pursued an anethesia specialty. She was a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for 37 years, practicing in both Chicago, IL and Denver, CO. Upon her retirement she moved to Arizona and enjoyed 19 years caravanning the US and Canada, overseeing entertainment functions in her community, mastering the art of pool-sharking, and just plain enjoying life!

She loved life and loved to laugh. She delighted in telling jokes especially ones shared in the operating room. She often joked about her profession as an anesthetist by saying that for 37 years she sat on a stool and passed gas in the operating room (and earned a good living, too)!

Evelyn was musically gifted on the piano and later in life the organ. She was a natural coloratura soprano who thought she was destined to be a music teacher! She sang and entertained since age three or four when she sang "Away In A Manger" for Christmas service at Tomahawk's Grace Lutheran Church.

Evelyn will be missed by many. Her death was complicated by Alzheimer's. It was as coined "a long good-bye" for the past four years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Malcolm and Clara Denniston; sister, Laura; brother, Warren; and two husbands, John and Louis. She is survived by her 2 children, Janice and Jerome; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
