A daughter of the Hoosier State, Frances was born to Oscar David and Ida Helen Worth of Jonesboro, Indiana. At the age of 23 Frances, along with her then-husband Lee Oswalt and several children ventured west to Denver, Colorado in search of a new life. Several years and children later, Frances and Lee divorced. After serving a substantial and lengthy duty as a single mom to Debbra, Lee, William, Brenda, Sherry, and David, Frances married Everett Walters of Denver, who brought with him 4 more children; Anthony, Linda, Michael, and David. Time passed after the death of Everett, and Frances subsequently married Robert Mosher of Snowmass Village who had 1 daughter, Amanda.
Frances occupied many stations in life, and through the course of her years she was a homemaker, mother, factory worker, cocktail waitress, drafting apprentice, cook, retail associate, business partner, PBX supervisor, front desk clerk, housekeeper, maintenance worker, Sunday school teacher, leader of Camp Fire Girls and AWANA youth groups, minister, pastor’s wife, and optometric assistant.
Frances was a beautiful and independent woman, highly respected for her strength and wisdom. The Holy Spirit glowed brightly in her soul and therefore, adults and children along with small dogs were drawn to her as a moth is drawn to a lamp. She was a wise counselor to many and a fierce advocate for Jesus Christ.
Frances entered into God’s glory on January 9th, 2019. She was preceded in death by both parents, 2 brothers, and 2 children. She is survived by her husband Robert of Arvada, CO; and children, (in no particular order) Lee Oswalt of Sunset, UT; William Oswalt of Cleburne, TX; Sherry Evans of Bennetsville, SC; Michael Walters of Arvada, CO; Brenda Glenn of Bennetsville, SC; David E. Walters of Elizabeth, CO; David W. Walters of Brighton, CO; Linda Stewart of Blue Springs, MO; and finally, Robert’s daughter Amanda, of Littleton, CO. In addition, there are many others to whom Frances was “mom”, and she leaves a legacy of grand and great-grandchildren as numerous as the stars in the sky.
To know Frances was to know a true Proverbs 31 woman; “Her children respect and bless her; her husband joins in with words of praise: “Many women have done wonderful things, but you’ve outclassed them all!” Charm can mislead and beauty soon fades. The woman to be admired and praised is the woman who lives in the Fear-of-GOD. Give her everything she deserves! Festoon her life with praises! (Pr. 31:28-31, “The Message”)
