Fred D. Shafer 91, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle passed away on August 14, 2026, in Westminster, Colorado. He was born in March 1935 in Zanesville, Ohio. His parents were the late Geneva McNabb and Frank Harris.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, just shy of 70 years of marriage. Fred also was preceded in death by his son Wayne Shafer, grandson Joshua Shafer, sisters Shirley, Patricia, Donna, and brother Carl. Close to Fred and his wife Dorothy’s hearts were the babies in the family that preceded them in death.
Fred is survived by his children: Fred A. Shafer, Greg Shafer (Cheryl), Cindy Frappier (Maurice), Christy Buckley (Srikanth), Bill Shafer, Daughter-in-law Virginia Shafer; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 10:00am, Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Broomfield Assembly, 11900 Reed Street in Broomfield, Colorado, 80020.
