

Frederick Paul Stieber aka Fritz and Fred passed away January 23rd at Covenant Village in Westminster Colorado under the care of Hospice of Denver, and the exceptional staff at Covenant Village. He was 85 years old.
He was born April 30, 1931 to Edward and Mary (Salter) Stieber in Brighton, Colorado. Fred attended school in Wattenburg Colorado until a farming accident took part of his left hand. He married the love of his life Rosalie Wethington in 1953 in Platteville, Colorado. They had 3 children, Kenneth, and twins Jannette and Annette, both under 3 lbs. Annette survived for 3 months. Rosalie preceded him in death in 1999.
He continued farming and working full time at various jobs until moving to Denver in 1968. He worked for International Harvester for 16 years followed by Midwest Transit, and retired in 1993.
Fred was a jack of all trades and master of many. He could fix anything and did a lot of "fixin" everywhere he went. Together Fred and Rosalie also worked for St. Mark Catholic Church for many years. He was a life member of the Elks BPOE 2227 and the Knights of Columbus, and frequented the American Legion Post 161 for many years.
Fred is survived by son Ken of Thornton and daughter Jan ( Dean) Quinton of Rock Springs, Wyoming; granddaughter Jessica Stein and great granddaughter Isabella Stein of Reliance, Wyoming; sister Barbara (Bill) Tome of Florida; and several sister/brother in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by parents, Ed and Mary, wife Rosalie, daughter Annette, brothers, Jim, Tom, Don and Rich, and sister Eileen Parreco.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2017, 4:00 - 6:00 pm at Olinger Highland Mortuary Chapel, 10201 Grant Street,Thornton, CO 80229 with a Recitation of the Rosary to follow at 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, February 1, 2017, 10:00 am at St. Mark Catholic Church, 3141 W. 96th Ave. Westminster, CO 80031. Casual attire for all services are requested by the family.
