Gerald J. "Jerry" Kloberdanz
September 17, 1934 – May 14, 2018
Gerald James Kloberdanz (Jerry), resident of Northglenn Colorado, passed away on May 14, 2018 at his home in Northglenn at the age of 83 years.
Jerry was born in Sterling, Colorado to Jacob Joseph Kloberandz & Margaret (Stubert) Kloberdanz. Jerry attended St Anthony Catholic School throughout his school career. While attending school, Jerry helped out on the family farm.
After Jerry graduated from high school, he married his high school sweetheart, Loretta and started his family life. Jerry’s began working at Seven Up Bottling Company and Sterling Furniture before joining the team at McCoy Company, a Caterpillar dealer, in 1955. Jerry continued working at McCoy Company which was later bought out by Wagner Equipment Company. Jerry worked at Wagner until he retired, as the Used Parts Manager, in 1999.
After retiring from Wagner Equipment Company, Jerry began volunteering at Immaculate Heart of Mary Food Bank. Jerry volunteered at the food bank from 1999 until 2018, just weeks before he passed away. Jerry was a member of the 500 Hours Club eighteen times for contributing of 500 hours of volunteer service in one year. Jerry was also an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Jerry and his wife raised seven children. While raising a family, Jerry spent a great deal of time in the garage teaching his children to use tools and work with their hands. He spent time in the home teaching discipline, respect and compassion. He taught them how to love with their whole heart and work hard for things they wanted in your life. He also taught little things like how to fish, how to appreciate the small things in life, and how to fix things. The one lesson he wanted everyone to learn more than anything in life was the importance of family. For Jerry, family was everything. Jerry had a way about him that made everyone he met feel welcome and accepted. He was willing to help those around him and lived his life in service of others. He passed on a legacy of love and compassion. After his retirement, Jerry began refinishing cedar chests for his children. He went on to refinish a cedar chest for every child, grandchild and great grandchild. Each a treasure by which to remember him. Jerry will be greatly missed by his wife of 63 years, Loretta (Luckey) Kloberdanz; his children: Pat Kloberanz and his fiancé Mary Mueller; Mike Kloberdanz and his wife Debbi; Sue May and her husband Rick; Dan Kloberdanz and his wife Julie; Rick Kloberdanz and his partner Galan Roach; Kathy Bailey and her husband Paul; Janet Coraggio and her husband Tony; his siblings: Lawrence Kloberdanz and his wife Anna Mae; Helen Wells; Betty Donaldson; Jeanie Mekelburg and her husband Bill; eighteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. I was so saddened of the news of Jerry's passing. He was my inspiration and hero at the foodbank. Everyone looked up to Jerry for his wisdom and compassionate ways. He is missed already by so many, and there will never be a warehouse manager like Jerry. He always put his arm around my shoulder and asked about my husband even when he was very sick himself. He was such a caring man.
My sincere condolences and prayers to all his family.
