Glenn Douglas Campbell of Thornton, Colorado passed away on January 13, 2020. Glenn Campbell was born January 31, 1940 in Denver, Colorado to Harry and Elizabeth Campbell. He graduated from Sheridan Union High School in Englewood, CO and attended Colorado University in Boulder before moving to Holmes Beach on Ana Marie Island in Florida where he managed a convenience store and served as a volunteer fireman.
Glenn chose to embrace his Catholic faith before marrying his bride of 46 years, Inez Marie (Kuntz) Campbell. He is survived by Inez and their three sons Brett (Karen) Campbell, Linden, WA, Steven (Roxanne) Campbell, Sulphur Springs, TX, Dennis Campbell, Brighton, CO, and five grandchildren. He is also survived by his former wife, Karen Bricker. His parents, Harry and Elizabeth Campbell preceded him in death. Surviving siblings include James (Sandra) Campbell, Linda Johnson and Larry (Cheryl) Campbell, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Glenn enjoyed a successful career in Industrial Sales supporting customers throughout the midwest. Winning numerous sales awards, he was quoted as saying, “do your research and know your customer and their products.” He retired from the Regional Transportation District in Boulder as a Parts Clerk in July, 2008.
When not sitting in his front yard under the Linden tree talking to neighbors, Glenn could be found fishing mountain lakes and streams or taking “the boat” to Lake McConaughy. One of his most cherished fishing trips was with his three sons in Alaska. He was always ready to jump in the car and take a scenic drive anywhere in, God’s Country, Colorful Colorado. Glenn will be laid to rest at the Orlinger Highland Cemetery, 10201 Grant Street Thornton, CO 80229, on Friday, January 24th at 1:30 PM (visitation starts at 12:30 PM). In lieu of flowers Glenn requests that you make a donation to the Adams County Animal Shelter / Adoption Center or any charity of your choosing.
