Goldie May Powell was born August 9, 1922 in Frankfort, Indiana. She with her parents, James and Effie Beatty, and three siblings moved to Denver in 1924. She went to school in Denver and graduated from West Denver High School. She married William Powell in January 1947. He preceded her in death. They had no children, but were close to her sister's three boys. She held several jobs, some of which were Remington Arms during World War 2, Trailways Bus, The Denver Post, and 32 years at Western Electric, retiring in 1984. She loved to travel, go to plays, movies, and read. She was a member of Thornton Presbyterian Church, The Telephone Pioneers, 55 Plus Organization of Thornton, Senior Friends, and RSVP. Goldie re-married on June 2, 2002 to Randall E. Roberts. Randall fell and broke his hip and was hospitalized from January 25th, until June 22, 2002 when he expired.
