December 10, 1941 – June 13, 2026
Harold R. Lasswell was born to Harold Lasswell and Ruby Massey on December 10, 1941 in Jefferson County, Kansas. At the time of his birth, Harold’s parents were itinerant farm workers, which led to Harold living in many states and with his Grandmother for periods of time. Harold’s early employment centered around bartending and bar management in the State of Illinois, where he was well known for his pool shooting abilities. He eventually landed in the State of Colorado and worked in various jobs – for the King Sooper’s Dairy, at a chemical manufacturing plant, and ending as a technician for AirCare Colorado. He was a life-long member of The Elks Club. Harold was known for his dry wit and sense of humor, along with his love of off-the-wall trivia and facts.
Harold met Marlene Goodson in Colorado and they married on February 18, 1984. They remained married for nearly 40 years, until Marlene’s death in November of 2023. Following his marriage to Marlene, Harold converted to Catholicism and became a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church’s Parish.
Harold is survived by his stepdaughters, Lori Ann Ludden (William), Mary Ann Goodson (Art Maio), and Shari Ann Goodson (Patty Larson), as well as his grandchildren, Danielle Bayliss and Jared Antonio Maio, and great-granddaughter, Cameron Neubauer. He is also survived by his niece, Tina Marie Radford, and his nephews, Steven Rayful McLean and Roy Patrick McLean, as well as many friends. Harold was pre-deceased by his wife, Marlene Lasswell, his parents, Harold Lasswell and Ruby Massey, and his sister, Helen Lestalee McLean.
