She was born 98 years ago in Platteville Colorado to Senichi and Misu Nishimoto. She was married to Harry Fukaye for 46 years and had one child. They lived in the Thornton/Northglenn area working on the Fukaye family farm. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with friends, involvement with the Buddhist Temple and the Brighton Nisei Women’s Club.
In her later years she moved to Springwood Campus, moving from independent apartment living to assisted living suites. There she met many new friends and caring staff. She did enjoy her activities, bingo and bean bag baseball the best!
She was always grateful to everyone, from her physical therapists who kept her moving, to her clinic doctors and nurses who kept her healthy and the resident staff who watched over her. Always wondering “why are they so nice to me”.
She was preceded in death by her husband, six brothers(Harry, George, Hugh, Noboru, Shigeru, and Sueji) and one sister(Rosie). She is survived by her daughter, (Eleanor), sister-in-laws(Mae Flickinger, Alice Nishimoto & Marie Nishimoto), brother-in-law(Chet Flickinger) and many nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews.
