Helen Schmidt (Ciezkowski)-A loving wife, mother and grandmother, was born in East Meadow, New York, December 9, 1927. She was married to Alfred G. E. Schmidt, Sr. on March 6, 1948. She is survived by her two sons and their families: Alfred G. E. Schmidt, Jr. and wife Terri S. Schmidt; and Allan G. E. Schmidt and wife Kristi L. Schmidt. She is also survived by two granddaughters and their families: A. Schmidt and domestic partner, N. Sellier; Astrid G. E. Schmidt and fiancé James Yaitanes; and a granddaughter-in-law Breanne C. VonFeldt and husband Corey VonFeldt with son Alec. Helen was one of nine siblings who preceded her in death. Helen settled in Thornton in 1999 but had lived in NY, TX, DC, FL, and MS before moving to Colorado. She loved birds and butterflies and was a most gentle soul. She was loved by all who knew her.
