Howard L. Welton was born October 30, 1927 in Haigler, Nebraska to the late Peral Benjamin and Rose Katherina (Nuding) Welton. He was one of eight children to this union: Troil, Wilda, Kenneth, Lavina, Junior, Lois and Pearline.
Howard accepted Christ in his youth and his faith remained strong throughout his lifetime.
As a very young man, Howard served his country honorably during WWII. He later married Wilma Kilmer, who he knew from middle school. They were married by her father the Reverend Harry Kilmer.
Howard was a man of integrity and high moral standards; he was a self-taught Stock and Commodities Broker by profession. However, Howard was talented in many areas throughout his life.
His grandchildren remember him lovingly; and how much they enjoyed the sweets he would make for them from scratch.
Those left to cherish his memory include his devoted and loving wife of 69 years, Wilma Welton; one son Douglas Welton; two daughters’ in-law, Diane Welton, and Randee Shultz; six grandchildren: Daniel (Nicole) Welton, Keith (Rona) Welton, Dena Bethel, Denise Welton, James (Wendy) Welton, and Donna (Greg) Winn; he also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his other son Michael Welton; his parents and siblings.
Howard L. Welton was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all.
