Irene Veronica Haupt

Irene Veronica Haupt, age 85, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord Jesus Christ at home on Monday, February 19, 2018, surrounded by family. She was born June 28, 1932, in Holy Cross Iowa, to George and Emma Hefel. After graduating from Holy Cross High School in 1950 she met Lawrence Franklin Haupt. They married in 1953 in Dubuque, Iowa. Larry and Irene moved to Albuquerque, NM then Denver, Colorado in 1968. Irene stayed home raising six children until Larry’s passing in 1981. She then went back to school and obtained a teaching degree and ran numerous day care facilities in Northglenn and Thornton, Colorado for over 30 years. Known as “Ms Irene” to the thousands of children who passed through her care, she is remembered as being loving, kind and generous to all who came to know her. In addition to work, Irene loved decorating her home, shopping and caring for others. Irene is preceded in death by her husband Larrry and son James. She is survived by her children; Larry Joe, Susie, John (Kathy), Diane Mitchell (Ted) and Mary (Tom) Beauchamp as well as ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
