

Irma Laura Sharp May 1, 1922 – July 12, 2012
Irma was the oldest of the 14 children born to William E. Newton and Laura Alberta Dean Newton in Grand Rapids, MN. She is survived by four sisters ( Shirley Kjosted of San Diego, CA, Wilma Rich of Detroit Lakes, MN, Darlene Wagner of Harrisburg, Il and Nova Esler (Bud) of Grand Rapids, MN) and one brother (Theodore Newton (Linda) of Golden, CO. Her parents, her brothers (Clifford, Rodney & 2 baby boys) and sisters (Marjorie, Patricia, Vivian and Mavis) have preceded her in death.
On October 18, 1942 she became the wife of Bernard T Sharp who lives in Federal Heights, CO. They would have celebrated their 70th anniversary this year. She was the mother of three children – Theodore (deceased), Constance (Michael Carter) of Federal Heights, CO and Robert (Margie) of Arvada, CO. grandmother of Yvette Ross of Canton, MI, Teresa Brandle of Federal Heights, CO, Kevin Eldredge (Jennifer) of Arvada, CO, Troy Ferrell (Cheryl) of Arvada, CO, Brian Eldredge (Polly) of Arvada, CO , Brian Adams (Rhonda Rhodes) of Lunenberg, MA, Sheri Addis (Dallas) of Tulsa, OK, Laura Boccia (Kris) of Firestone, CO and Tracy Sharp. 23 great grandchildren (Brenden (Tara), Samantha, Paige, Cody, Megan, Mallory, Carly, Dara (Ryan), Aaron, Katie,(Matt), Cody, Megan, Derrek, Tyler, Connor, Katelyn, Marty (Sarah), Anne, Jarret, MaKenzie, Madie, Mason and Zane)and 9 great, great grandchildren (Camden, Cole, Tatum, Sidney, Raya, Averi, Esmee, Johnathon and Niko) .
During her 90 years of life she was mainly a homemaker but worked also as a waitress, Stanley Home Products sales person, did retail sales at Glass Block, Joslin’s and Lerner’s Department Stores and achieved President’s Club status during her 30 years as an Avon Representative. She also held positions in the American Legion and Knights of Columbus Auxiliaries. Irma and Bernard lived in many communities - Grand Rapids, Minneapolis, Brainerd and Duluth, MN, Westminster, Thornton & Federal Heights, CO as well as Jacksonville and Lake Wales, FL. She was well loved and respected by many for her easy smile, her laughter and her loving support.
Visitation and Rosary will be held at Olinger Highland Mortuary, 10201 Grant Street, Thornton, CO 80229 on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 – viewing 3 pm to 7 pm, Rosary 7 pm to 8 pm.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am, Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church 7595 Federal Blvd, Westminster, CO 80030, this will be followed by a short service at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236 where she will be interred.
Reception will be held at 2:30 pm at the American Legion Post 161 6230 W 60th Ave, Arvada, CO 80003

Donations may be made in her honor to the Hospice of Saint John 1320 Everett Court, Lakewood, CO 80215 who provided excellent care during her last year.
