

James R. Lund – Jim, 79 of Thornton, Colorado passed away at The Villas at Sunny Acres on Saturday, December 11, 2021. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, dad, papa, and friend to all that knew and loved him.
Jim was born on May 17,1942 and at 6 weeks old, he was adopted by his loving parents, Marvin and Muriel Lund. Shortly after, they moved to Wyoming and farmed a place near Pine Bluffs. The family returned to Colorado and purchased a home in Commerce City in 1957. Jim enlisted in the US Army in May of 1962, and served much of his time in Korea. He was honorably discharged in November of 1965. After the US Army he joined the Adams County Sheriff’s Department in 1965 -1979, working his way up to Watch Commander. Jim then started his long-term employment for the City of Thornton. He became the Bailiff for the years of 1983 – 1990. In 1990 he was given the position of Hearing Officer for the courts under Honorable Judge Rose until 2005. After 21 years with the City of Thornton, he decided to retire.
Jim married the love of his life, Sharon Wahman, on February 7, 1970. They together celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 2020 with family and friends.
Jim is survived by his wife Sharon Lund; Daughter Robin Ridenour (Jason); Son Jim Lund Jr. (Kathryn); Daughter Janette Kallsen (Terry); Grandson Bobbie Deden; Granddaughter Natalie Arellano (V.J.); Grandson Blaine Kallsen; Grandson Dominick Gifford; Granddaughter Maddie Duncan; Grandson Jesse Gifford; Grandson Alex Brown; and Great Grandson to be.
He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin O. and Muriel D. Lund; and Daughter Desaree Schumacher.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Olinger Highland Mortuary, and Thursday, December 23rd from 8:30 A.M. – 9:30 A.M.
Services will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 9:30 A.M. at Olinger Highland Mortuary Heritage Hall in Thornton, CO. Interment will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 11:30 A.M.
