Jerry Wayne Ellis

Jerry was born on September 7, 1944 in Ponca, Nebraska to Ronald Ellis and Eileen Schlines. He graduated high school in 1962 in Wakefield, Nebraska and entered the US Army in December 1963. He was trained to repair, calibrate, and service medical equipment that could be found in hospitals, medical centers, and dental centers. During his travels in the U.S. Army he was able to live in three different countries which were France, Germany, and Iran. He retired from the U.S Army in December 1983. In April 1985 he went back to work for the federal government as a training instructor, which he retired from in December 2006.

His hobbies were anything he could do outdoors. Hunting, fishing, and golf were his favorite.

He was married twice. His first wife was Dora Hannewald Ellis from Lampertheim, Germany. They had daughter Donna Ellis from Lampertheim, Germany and the twins Troy and Tracy Ellis from Heidelberg, Germany. Tracy passed away as an infant in Wakefield, Nebraska. His second wife was Virginia Webster with whom he had daughter Michelle Ellis Bushner.

He is survived by his children Donna, Troy, and Michelle and his grandchildren Simon, Daron, Marcus, Angelo, and Grace.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ronald Ellis and Eileen Ellis Cisney, his siblings Chuck, Kenny, and Connie Ellis (McKinney), and his daughter Tracy Ellis.

A visitation for Jerry will be held Monday, August 18, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229. Following the visitation will be a funeral service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Olinger Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery - Highland, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, Colorado 80229.
