Jimmie Lee Parks, passed away on February 14, 2026. Born December 9, 1944 in Denver, Colorado, to John and Virginia Parks. Jimmie grew up in West Denver, where he attended church regularly, played on the church basketball and softball team. He also had a newspaper paper route delivering the Rocky Mountain News and played on two different little league youth baseball associations.
Jimmie went to West High School and after high school he married his high school sweetheart, Kathi. In the fall of 1963, he answered the call to serve by joining the U.S. Navy. Stationed in Oakland, California, he had the unique honor of serving aboard the USS Ranger alongside his older brother, John.
Upon returning to civilian life, Jimmie began a long and dedicated career at Rocky Flats, where his strong work ethic earned him the respect of his peers until his retirement in 1995.
Though he faced the heartbreak of Kathi’s passing in 1999, Jimmie found love and companionship again when he married Dianne Marston in 2002.
Jimmie’s greatest joy was found in the lives of his children and grandchildren. Whether he was coaching his sons’ Little League football and baseball teams or perfecting his game on the golf course or at the bowling alley, he was always present. Above all, he "lived" for his grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to cheer them on at their various events.
A man who "never met a stranger," Jimmie’s legacy is defined by his ability to connect with anyone and his fierce pride in his family.
Jimmie was survived by his wife, Dianne; his daughter, Denell (Tracy); his sons, Jim (Michele) and Jeff; and his stepsons, Chris (Karalea) and Keith (Megan). He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his son, Donald; his first wife, Kathi; his parents, John and Virginia; and his brothers, John and Gordan.
