JC lived with a rare brilliance and an old soul’s warmth, known by everyone around him as someone who gave freely of his time and heart to help anyone who needed it. As a youth he lived for hockey and as a Pee Wee AA he won a National Championship with his Gulf Coast Flames brothers. He lived boldly and authentically, mastering every board he touched—from waves and pavement to wake and skim.
Snowboarding, however, was his true creative home. Channeling his passion and ingenuity, JC designed the Snurferskate—an innovative, three-dimensional snowboard built to ride with the agility of a skateboard. He took immense pride in recently receiving notice that his patent was granted, laying the groundwork for Chas Boards Unlimited.
He is lovingly survived by his parents, Becky and Chuck; his sister, Erika; his girlfriend, Lindsey; and extended aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him beyond measure. He will be forever missed and never forgotten.
