John Alfred Rorabaugh

Al was a child of the Dust Bowl days. He was the 17th of 20 siblings raised by his parents. He celebrated his 1st birthday with his family on their journey from Oklahoma to California. During this trip, his family had brought a cow on a trailer so he could have milk.

After this move, his family settled in central California where he grew up. At 17, he joined the United States Air Force where he served 4 years, mostly in Korea. After the Air Force, he settled in Wyoming where he attended Casper College and the University of Wyoming.

He was a very successful businessman, operating service/gas stations in Casper and Torrington Wyoming along with a car sales business where he sold new and used cars in Torrington. After moving to Broomfield, Colorado in 1978 due to his wife’s health, he undertook a career in the insurance business where he remained until his retirement.

Al enjoyed numerous activities during his life. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He loved to travel the United States in their RV with his wife, Barbara. Together, they saw most of the states in this great country. They also spent time on overseas trips to China, Mexico, Italy and, in more recent years, they traveled via car to Montana and other places.

Al was predeceased by spouses, Helen and Gladys, his parents, John and Elsie, his 20 siblings, his sons, Kurt and Gary (Duff), and his granddaughter, Teresa. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, his daughters, Kristi (Don), Connie and his sons, Kip and Fritz, 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by his wife, Barbara’s, 5 children, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
