Joseph “Joe” Ceballos, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2024, at the age of 94. He was born on May 25, 1929 to Eutimio and Felicia Ceballos.
Joe was born and raised in Bethlehem, PA. It was during his service in the Air Force that he met the love of his life, Norma Hayden, and they were married on January 5, 1952. Together, they embarked on a life full of adventure and love, spanning across continents.
After their time on the East Coast, Joe and his wife ventured to Venezuela, where they built a rich tapestry of memories over many years. Eventually, they settled in Colorado with their three children, Adele, Larry, and Gary. Joe was a devoted family man, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones. He found immense joy in his role as a father, and later as a grandfather and great-grandfather.
Beyond his dedication to family, Joe had a multitude of passions that enriched his life. He was an avid stamp collector, finding solace and delight in his extensive collection. A sports enthusiast, he could often be found cheering for his favorite teams, including the New York Giants, and enjoying games of tennis, baseball, and racketball.
Joe possessed a sharp mind and a love for intellectual pursuits. He excelled in mathematics and took pleasure in solving puzzles like Sudoku. He had an eclectic taste in music and movies, enjoying oldies easy listening music, action mysteries, westerns, and classics. His adventurous spirit also led him to appreciate travel and the simple pleasures of drive-in movies and plays.
In his later years, Joe prioritized his health, taking regular walks around the lake and indulging in meals at his favorite spots, such as Red Lobster and local breakfast joints. However, above all else, his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, showering them with love and affection.
Joe Ceballos will be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Ceballos, children, Adele (Dan), Larry (Lorraine) Gary, (Susan), his grandchildren, Jessi, Trevor, Allix and Drew; and he leaves behind his great-grandchildren, Dawson and Levi.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 9th at 1:30 PM at Olinger Highland Mortuary. Joe will be laid to rest on March 9th at 2:30 PM at Olinger Highland Cemetery. For those attending the services, the family requests casual attire or jeans be worn.
