OBITUARY

Joseph Donato Lochi

June 4, 1982January 6, 2021

Joseph Donato Lochi, passed away on January 6, 2021. He was born in Westminster, Colorado to Gary and Judith Lochi. He is survived by his mother Judy, brothers Korey and Santino, sister Davina, niece Alli Doughtry, his grandparents Isabella and Raymond Barajas, uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Gary Lochi, and his grandparents Joseph and Frances Lochi.

Joseph’s life was a short 38 years, however he lived a big life being a fanatic Notre Dame fan and never missed watching the game with family and friends. He had a love for baseball and the St .Louis Cardinals. He loved cooking, rock climbing, any water sports, snow skiing, hockey, and more. Oh how he also loved fitness, it was a big part of his life!

His true love might have been the lake and hanging out with his best friends the Avery’s; George, Corrissa and Pippa their daughter. The four of them had many adventures together.

Joseph loved life and everyone around him. He took pleasure in socializing with family and friends, and making silly videos with his close friends. Joseph could sing Italian songs often did with his dear friend Teresa Franzese.

He passed time learning something new, figuring out how something worked, or just debating current events. Joseph attended college but he was a true believer that people could learn how to do things on their own. He was self-taught on many things.

He had a great love for his family. He spent Easter with both sides of his family, making for a full house. He brought a friend one time and was asked if it was a family reunion. Joe’s reply, “no just some of my family.” To Joe, everyone was family.

Joseph grew up attending mass every Sunday with the Lochi side of his family and breakfast afterwards. We believe that Joseph’s love of cooking came from being in the kitchen cooking Sunday breakfast with his dad, grandpa Lochi and Uncle Mark.

There was always an occasion to get together at Grandma and Grandpa Barajas’ house, birthdays, Christmas breakfast, and Lenten meals. Also a couple of yearly trips to Wyoming for extended family events.

I believe most of you will agree that Joseph was one of the kindest individual’s you might have had the pleasure to have met. Always willing to help anyone out.

He leaves behind a large family and friends that loved him dearly and will always miss his smile and quick witted responses. Please honor Joseph by looking for ways in our daily lives to carry out acts of kindness, generosity, and love.

For anyone not able to attend the funeral mass in person, the service will be live streamed on Facebook through the Olinger Highland Facebook Page.

Donations in Joseph’s memory can be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, 3549 Navajo Street Denver CO 80211

Joe,
It’s taken sometime for this all to sink in. I’m crushed and broken-hearted. Colorado will never feel the same to me without you. I miss our many talks, walks, our family vacation trips to Breckinridge and Vail, our random yoga classes we attended over the years where you ended up doing some of the funniest stuff I have ever seen. Our meet ups for Organic food and green juice. You going with to me the store when no one else wanted to. I will miss our many facetime conversations and your long voicemails and texts. You always worried about keeping everyone connected. You always were overflowing with love. Your teaching my kids to ski and your never ending love that you had for my family and all of your closest friends . You will be forever missed. Thank you for being a light in our lives. May you fly with the angels my beloved friend. Love Always,
Heidi Liddell and family

Judy and Family - I was so sorry to hear about Joseph. I want you to know my heart aches for your loss and you're in my thoughts and prayers. I am thinking back when we worked together on those long hot summer field trips with 100 kids to care for - Joseph was the one that kept it all fun! I hope the memories of Joseph warm your heart and see you through this difficult time.

Joe was one of the kindest people I ever met
He treated me like family and we shared some great laughs and moments together with George and the family... he was a genuine spirit and soul.. I had such a fun times when George and Lochi would get Into banter with each other the funniest friendly disagreements ever ... how I will cherish the times I got to be around Lochi many times picking me up at the airport and spending thanksgivings together... ahhh he will be missed

Joe was larger than life and such a multi faceted individual that left an unforgettable, lifelong impression! Staff races at Gateway Park have got to be my favorite memory! Judy and Santino, know your Eagleview family are thinking and praying for the Lochi family!

Heart goes out to the family.
Senior year high school football Joe was the teams kicker and boy he played like a linebacker! Every kickoff he would run down fast and hard and make big hits. I remember telling him how crazy he was but the team loved it. He was our inspiration, our heart and I'm sure he's bringing that passion in Heaven. God bless-
