

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Joshua David Tapia, 51 of Ft. Lupton, Colorado passed away on October 9, 2024. Josh was born on June 26,1973 in San Antonio,Texas and was raised in Brush,Colorado with his parents Ken Tapia and Vicky Emerson. He graduated high school and attended Fort Morgan Community College. Josh took some extended classes and received his Associates Degree. Josh lived a life of service as he was a part of Rampart Search and Rescue as well as becoming an EMT joining the Ft. Lupton Fire Department as a volunteer Firefighter. Josh lived in Fort Lupton and worked for Adams County as a Deputy Sheriff where he was a part of many action committees to include Operation Free Bird. He loved his career and enjoyed getting to know and love everyone he had the pleasure of working with.
Joshua was a family man of 22 years to the love of his life Antrese. Together they had three beautiful daughters; Jade, Jasmine and Autumn and a loving son J.J. He found joy being surrounded by family. Together they enjoyed going to movies, fishing, Geo Cashing, and spending quality time at Starbucks getting their favorite drinks. He was a very caring man, he would stop if there was an accident and offer help if needed. He also enjoyed turtles, dragons and trains.
Josh is survived by his wife Antrese Tapia, his three daughters Jade, Jasmine, Autumn, and his son J.J., his mom Vicky (Sonny) Emerson, his dad Ken (Velma) Tapia, his two sisters Joy Aguina (Lee Aguina), Leah (Ryan) Bowen; grandparents, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a lot of friends, co-workers and family members.
He will be greatly missed.
