

Judith Arlene Greenwood, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024 in Westminster, Colorado. She was born on April 9, 1942, in Greeley, Colorado to the late Robert and Arlene (Warner) Ellison.
Judy grew up in Carr, Colorado and later in Greeley. She graduated from High School in LaSalle, Colorado. After graduation, Judy married the love of her life, Jerry. They were wed on July 17, 1960 in LaSalle. Jerry worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and during this period, they lived in numerous towns in Kansas, Nebraska and Wyoming. Eventually they settled in Denver, Colorado in March of 1970. Judy worked at many King Soopers stores during her career from 1975 to 2003.
Judy's friends, family and coworkers were extremely important to her. Besides trips to Glenwood Springs for anniversaries, Jerry and Judy attended the annual Albuquerque New Mexico Balloon Festival for 30 plus years. They also took cruise ship vacations to Hawaii and Alaska. Their last cruise was to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Besides her infectious laugh and sense humor, those who knew Judy well remember her keeping an immaculate house and being a classy dresser.
Judy is survived by a host of family that includes her devoted husband of 64 years, Jerry D. Greenwood; loving children, Jerry E. (Diane) Greenwood of Brighton, Colo. and Julie (Michael) Bobrick of Westminster, Colo.; grandchildren, Nickolas, Danelle and Amanda and eight grandchildren. Surviving siblings include Judy's twin sister, June Gibson of Lafayette, Colo. and Terri Oldham of Springfield, Missouri. She is also survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brother, James Ellison.
A celebration of Judy's wonderful life will take place 10am, Monday, September 9 at Olinger Highland Mortuary 10201 Grant St. in Thornton, Colorado.
