Julie Ann Lara

Julie Ann Lara, age 42, of Thornton, Colorado passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022. She was born In Denver, CO to Josefina R. Hernandez and Manual O. Lara on September 29, 1979. Julie grew up in Greeley, CO. She was a graduate of Greeley West High School where she took pride in their horticulture program.

Julie was a very happy person with a very bright personality. She was naturally a caregiver. She took care of many of her nieces and nephews. She went on to expand her caregiving abilities to the workforce where she worked as a caregiver to adults with special needs. Julie loved her job so much that she became an in-home adult care provider for Community Advantage. She was definitely one of a kind with a golden heart. Julie enjoyed camping, cooking, singing, dancing, and most importantly spending time with her children and family.

Julie is survived by her true love, Shane Medina; children, Hannah and Ethan Medina; father, Manual O. Lara; twin sister, Jenevie (Steve) Castillo; siblings, Oscar (Trina) Lara, Sandra (Hector) Gomez, Laura Abreo, Connie (Renee) Huerta, and Anthony (Sandra) Abreo; and many nieces and nephews. Julie is preceded in death by her mother, Josefina Hernandez; and sister, Becky Abreo.

A memorial service for Julie will be held Friday, August 12, 2022, 10:00 AM at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229. The Celebration continues for Julie with family and friends at Rotella Park, 1824 Coronado Pkwy Denver, Co 80229 starting at 1:00 pm.
