Shirley June Howard was born on June 4, 1936. She told everyone she was named after the child actress, Shirley Temple. In Junior High, she decided she would rather go by her middle name. From that day on, she was known as our beloved June.
June was a Colorado native. She attended North High School where she met Al, the love of her life. They were married in 1954. In 1955, June and Al started their family and had three daughters, Vicki, Jody, and Kathy. She was so proud of them. They were equally proud of her and honored to call her mom.
June and Al raised their three daughters in Denver, Colorado. At the time of her death, she lived in the house where they raised their children. June was known as the neighborhood mayor, always making sure everyone was taken care of. She was a people person, and everyone loved her. June took immense pride in her yard and garden. The beautiful trees, lawn, and flowers were the envy of the neighborhood.
June is survived by her three daughters, Vicki, Jody, and Kathy, her sons-in-law, Art and Marvin, her sister, Marilyn, her sisters-in-law, Diane, Jeannie, Patricia, and Peggy, six grandchildren, Nick, Chad, Paul, Stephany (Andy), Matthew, and Glenn (Nicki), five great grandchildren, Blayke, Ryder, Camdyn, Brysen and Quinn. June is preceded in death by her beloved husband Al, parents Wilford and Ruth, her brothers Wilford, William, Floyd, and Robert.
June will be remembered for her sassiness, determination, kindness, and her love of family.
