Lannaire Van Jackson

Lannaire Van Jackson, age 79, was the fourth child born to Bernice P. Johnson on September 29, 1946, at Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. She was a devoted member of St. James Holiness Church under the late Bishop William James, where her love for God first began to blossom.

Lannaire graduated from Springfield High School in Holland, Ohio, and later married Harry James Jackson of Holland, Ohio. From this union, God blessed them with five beautiful children, who became the joy and purpose of her life.

After visiting her sister, Saundrea Clarke, Lannaire fell in love with the breathtaking beauty of Colorado and moved there in 1977. She cherished the mountains—often taking her children to breathe the fresh mountain air, explore historic sites, and marvel at God’s creation. She earned a college certificate from Metropolitan State College in Denver and worked various jobs throughout her career. She was a proud employee of the Regional Transportation District (RTD) for several years before joining the United States Postal Service, from which she later retired.

A true Bible scholar, Mom spent countless early mornings studying the Word of God with her Bible and notepad beside her. Her faith shaped her life, her home, and her children. Over the years, she worshiped at several churches, including Gethsemane COGIC under Pastor William A. Harris, where she became a Mother of Mt. Sinai COGIC under Pastor Isaac and Missionary Sandra Kelly. She later joined New Beginnings Cathedral of Worship under Pastor Lewis and Ramona Brown. At the time of her passing, she was a beloved member of Hope City Church of Colorado under Pastor Marlon and Tamara Sanders.

Lannaire had a generous, welcoming heart. She opened her home to strangers she met on the street, offering warmth, food, and friendship. She was fiercely protective and endlessly proud of her five children—her greatest earthly blessing. She sewed Easter dresses, cooked unforgettable homemade meals (her cornbread dressing and yeast rolls were legendary), and created magical Christmases filled with joy and love.

She delighted in God’s creatures, often baby-talking to any animal nearby. Her children fondly remember her whistling to birds and chatting with rabbits—always named Peter.

Lannaire is survived by her five children: Kimberly Stanley of Grovetown, GA; Lamont Jackson of Denver, CO; Angelique Jackson of Marietta, GA; Bernette Jackson of Hoffman Estates, IL; and Alicia Jackson of Denver, CO.

She is also survived by her siblings: Patricia Sanders, Donna (Chester) Trail, Peaches, Paula, and Darrien.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernice P. Johnson and Homer Porter, and siblings Tyrone Amos, Saundrea Clarke, Warren (Gerald) Johnson, and Homer Jr.

She was a proud grandmother to Jasmine, Joshua, Samantha, Jeremy, Jacob, Jakoby, and Camri, and a great-grandmother to DaVon, DaLonie, Morgan, Braylen, Ja’Mya, Jaiah, and Massiah. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.

Lannaire lived a life full of faith, generosity, laughter, and love. Her legacy shines brightly through her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her. She has now entered her eternal rest, rejoicing in the presence of the Lord she loved so dearly.

Visitation will be held at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229, US, on August 19, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

A Committal Service will take place at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229, US, on August 19, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
