

Born in Boston Mass. on April 23, 1940 to the late Francis and the late Mary (Lynch) Marchant, Larry lived in Somerville Mass. for many years until he enlisted in the Air Force.
Loving husband of Dorothy Bachini Marchant (Dottie) who shared 51 wonderful years with Larry. Loving father of Paula Stavre and her husband Nick and Peter Marchant and his wife Lisa. Dear Grandfather of Christopher and Nicholas Stavre and Stephanie and Matthew Marchant. Dear brother of the late Ed Marchant and his wife Pat and Frank Marchant and his late wife Jean.
Larry is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, sisters in law, brother in law, and many friends. All his family and friends will remember him as a kind and loving man.
Larry served in the Air Force as an Air Police Officer. Larry loved his country and meeting other members of all branches of the military. He loved the history of the military and he enjoyed reading all books about the military.
Larry attended Salem State University in MA and Colorado State University. He worked as an Elementary School Teacher in CT and MA and as an Elementary School Principal in CO at many schools in Adams County School District 12. He loved working with children at the elementary school level. He retired to work in CO part time at Regis University, U-Haul and the Colorado Rockies. He enjoyed all his jobs and all the people he met. He loved to listen and talk to all the people he met during his careers.
Larry enjoyed following all sports but his first sports love was baseball. He enjoyed everything about the game of baseball. He loved working with all the wonderful people at Coors Field and sharing all his knowledge about baseball with them. He loved meeting all the people who came to the Rockies games and sat in his section. He enjoyed meeting people and talking baseball with them.
Larry loved traveling in his free time to many cities throughout the United States to learn about the history of each city and visit national monuments and museums. He also traveled to many cities that had major or minor league baseball teams so he could enjoy more baseball games, learn more about the game and the facts of baseball, and watch many players that did not come to Coors Field.
Larry also enjoyed going on fishing trips with all his fishing buddies. They were great weekends spent in many areas of Colorado & Wyoming enjoying fishing & spending time with his friends.
Larry also played in an adult hockey league in CO until he was in his 50's. He valued the friendship of all his Team 6 members and enjoyed his years playing with them.
Larry will be remembered in the hearts of all his family, friends, and colleagues for all the fond memories they have of the many occasions he shared with them. He was a true friend. Please remember him in your prayers.
A celebration of Larry's life will be held in Colorado in 2025.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St John's the Evangelist Church (St Michael's Parish), 320 Winthrop Street, Winthrop, MA.
Burial will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne MA.
