

Leslie Milton "Les" Anderson, of Englewood, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022. He was 95 years old. Les was born in Milwaukee, WI on September 14,1926 to the late Leslie Benjamin and Ruth (Porath) Anderson. Les attended schools in Milwaukee and graduated from Boys Tech High School in 1945.
Les was married to LaVerne (Opichka) Anderson on August 19, 1950. They were married in Milwaukee at St. John de Nepomuc Catholic Church. Les and LaVerne were married for 51 years. Their union was blessed with two children, Richard and Susan.
Les served in the United States Army and was veteran of World War II. He also worked at a Journeyman Machinest for Allis-Chalmers in Wisconsin. Les was a proud member of the United Auto Workers Union Steward. He was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and a Charter Member of Amazing Grace Community Church. Later in life, Les volunteered providing meals through his church and working with Elementary students in Adams Twelve Five Star Schools. He was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. Les' three loves were God, his family, and his country.
Les is survived by his son, Dick (Peggy) Anderson of Rockford, MI; daughter, Sue (Terry) Terill of Parker, CO; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Nate) Novak, Dan (Jenn) Terrill, Matt (Justine) Anderson; six grand Great Grandchildren, Tyler, Nathan, Carter, Nolan, Landon and Cole.
In addition to his wife, LaVerne, Les was preceded in death by his grandson, Tommy (Snowden) Terrill.
Interment will be conducted during a private ceremony with Olinger Mortuary/Highland Cemetery
