September 24, 1922-November 16, 2018
Lily Bingham went to be with her Savior, Jesus, November 16, 2018 at the age of 96 after a stroke. Lily Loretta Williams Bingham was born to Robert Roy and Glady Williams on September 24, 1922.
Lily was named after her grandmothers. She grew up in Snyder, Colorado. She graduated from Snyder High School at the age of 16. Her first job was at the Snyder Grocery Store. She then was employed at the Brush Sugar Factory as a secretary. She enjoyed using her typing and shorthand skills.
She had many different jobs over the years but continued to love typing. A week before she went to be in heaven she had requested her typewriter be set-up in her room at Eben Ezer. She could type 80 words a minute on an old typewriter and while she was encouraged to use a computer, she would always fall back to typing her annual Christmas letters on a typewriter.
She enjoyed her friends at the Commerce City Senior Center and the Commerce City Church. She also enjoyed going to visit her friends in Brush, Colorado by driving herself several weekends a month. She was able to pass her driving renewal test at the age of 95 (on a computer)! She also loved meeting her sister, Clarice and her brother, Bob at Wendy’s to eat lunch and catch up.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson and other loved ones. She is survived by her sister, Clarice Cook, her brother, Robert Williams, her three children, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 1:30 pm at Olinger Highland Funeral Home.
