Linda Iris Scott

Linda Scott, age 83, passed away on September 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, compassion, strength, and devotion to her family and to others.

A loving mother of two children, Linda devoted much of her life to caring for people. She served as a registered nurse for more than 30 years, a profession that reflected her natural desire to help, comfort, and care for those around her.

Linda was a devoted Christian and a woman of deep faith. As a pastor’s wife, she faithfully supported her husband in ministry and lived her faith through the way she treated others. She was known for her sweet spirit, generous heart, and constant concern for the needs of those around her.

After the passing of her beloved husband, Randy Scott, in 2012, Linda continued to live independently with strength and determination. Her family remained at the center of her life. She deeply treasured her grandsons, Joshua Scott, Austin Scott, Parker Burt, and the late Taylor Scott, as well as her great-grandchildren, Gracie Scott, Brantley Burt, and River Burt. She was always finding ways to care for them, help them, and make sure they knew how deeply they were loved.

Even in her final days, Linda’s mind remained sharp. She was able to visit and communicate with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren before her passing, giving those she loved the gift of meaningful final moments together. Though her body had grown tired, her spirit and love for her family remained strong. She passed peacefully in her sleep.

Linda is survived by her son, Ron Scott; her daughter, Rhonda Scott; her sisters, Fern Scott and Paula Babineaux; her grandsons, Joshua Scott, Austin Scott, and Parker Burt; her great-grandchildren, Gracie Scott, Brantley Burt, and River Burt; and many other relatives, friends, church family members, and loved ones who will cherish her memory.

A woman of steadfast faith, Linda looked forward to the day when she would be reunited in Heaven with those who had gone before her, including her beloved husband, Randy Scott; her grandson, Taylor Scott; her niece, Timothea Mauck; and seven of her siblings.

She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, nurse, pastor’s wife, and faithful servant of God. Her kindness touched many lives, and those who knew her will remember a woman who consistently thought of others and showed her love through the many ways she cared for them.

Though her presence will be deeply missed, the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the faith she demonstrated throughout her life will remain with her family for generations to come.
