Sister Lois Jean Washington was born March 4, 1939, in Marshall, Texas, to Ethel Mae Williams and AD Williams, preceded in death by her parents Ethel Mae W. & Husband Hubert Richardson who married December 27, 1969, her grandparents who assisted in raising her, Mr. Joe & Mrs. Bessie Williams, her Uncle Youree Williams & Lonnie Williams, her brother, Leroy Williams.
1942, Her mother Ethel Mae relocated to Shreveport, Louisiana, where she united with the Trinity Baptist Church. Lois soon followed her mother to live with her. Lois was baptized at the Trinity Baptist Church by the late Rev. C.H. Walker at 12 years old.
Education After grade school, she completed her education 9-12 grade at the Booker T. Washington H.S. and graduated 1958. She was accepted in 1959 to Grambling College. After one quarter or semester, she decided to relocate in 1960 to Denver, Colorado. She had an uncle who lived in Denver, Uncle Lonnie Williams.
In 1961 she met her husband and they married December 9, 1961 at the Lowry Base. His name was Warren Washington. He was ordered to serve his duties in Germany. Lois & Warren stayed there for 2 years. After a short marriage, they divorced in 1965.
In 1965, Lois was blessed to get a job at Presbyterian Hospital in Denver, CO. She was transferred to work as a clerk in the X-ray Department. In 1968 she was chosen to receive the “Gold Star Award” for her outstanding work in X-ray. Lois worked 44 years & ten months at P/SL.
Lois joined Zion Baptist Church in April 27, 1967. Rev. Dr. Wendell T. Liggins was the Pastor. Rev. Dr. Frank M. Davis became her new Pastor in 1992.
She joined the Senior Usher Ministry and attended Sunday School until her health began to decline.
Lois had seven caregivers for 1 year & 9 months; Malliah, (Spur) Joyce Carroll - Deborah - Dalree - Norman, Patricia (Betty-) Delyette. God Bless them All!

Washington leaves to mourn her loss; her sister, Lissie Courtney of Houston, Texas; her two nieces in Houston, Texas; Tonia Williams & Fiona Williams, many cousins out of state; Kris Williams, (Connie), (Kevin), Yolanda & Trudy in Marshall, Texas, Velma & Jackie, Jennifer Out of state relatives, Family members in state; Yolanda Cooper, Allen & Napue, Lovelace Families, Her (DCPOA) Deaconess Tranny Carr.
A visitation for Lois will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Zion Baptist Church, 933 E. 24th Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80205. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, also at Zion Baptist Church. A graveside service will occur Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229.
