Lynn Ward was a member of my high school class (1965) at Emerson High School in Gary, Indiana and grew up a few blocks from each other.   We were also members of the same confirmation class at Resurrection Lutheran Church in the Aetna district of Gary.  She was a beautiful, sweet girl, and friendly girl.  I was shocked to learn of her passing in 2020.  We lost contact after graduation and I tried to locate her for our 45th and 50th class reunions, but withour response.

If there were a complete obituary, we could post it on our class web site (www.emerson65.com) as we have for other departed classmates.  Perhaps one of her family members could provide one.

I met Lynn in 1985 when we both worked at the U.S. Customs Service in Indianapolis, Indiana.  She was funny and kind.  She brought light to a very dark work environment.  We were fortunate to renew our friendship when she relocated to the Washington, D.C. area.  I will forever cherish our friendship.  Tracey and Michael, please accept my condolences.

I don't know who this message is going to ( if anyone) now since time has gone by, however, if desired don't hesitate to contact me to share memories. I loss my wife a year ago. As we get older and life gets shorter one's memories take over. So I have been going down memory lane and reaching out to very old past time friends. Lynn Cheryl was my very first steady girlfriend through our high school years. I was a 9th grader and she in 8th grade. We went to the same church, schools and lived in the same neighborhood just blocks apart. In those early days we called it Puppy Love but I have always carried her Love and friendship in my life. We met a few times many many years ago. Once in Indianapolis and again in Detroit. When I saw a photo of her daughter as a teenager I thought it was Lynn.
