Mario E. Medina, 74, of Commerce City, Colorado, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Denver, Colorado, to Ciria and Elevi Medina, Mario was a proud graduate of Adams City High School, Class of 1969. He continued his education at Metro State College and later attended trade school for HVAC and plumbing, building a strong foundation for a life defined by hard work and dedication.
Mario retired from King Soopers after an incredible 34 years of service and continued working with E-470 and the South Adams Water District until his full retirement in 2016. Throughout his career, he was known for his reliability, warmth, and the friendships he built across the community.
On February 14, 1970, Mario married his high school sweetheart, Debbie Medina. Together, they raised three children—Michelle, Amy, and Mario, instilling in them the values of love, perseverance, and family.
Mario was a passionate Denver Broncos fan who rarely missed a game—unless he was out camping or fishing, two of his favorite pastimes. He found joy in the outdoors, in family gatherings, and in sharing laughter with those around him.
He is survived by his beloved wife Debbie; his children Michelle, Amy, and Mario & wife Miah; his grandchildren Alexis, Alonso, Amia, Kyra, Nicholas, Marsden, and Mason; and his great-grandson Benjamin. He is also survived by his brothers Mike, George, Jerome, James, Tom, and Joseph.
Mario was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Anthony, his sister Ciria Teresa, and his granddaughter Marlowe.
Mario will be remembered for his generous spirit, his love of family, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness and humor. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Funeral arrangements for the services will be held on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025, at 11.30 am at Our Saviour Lutheran Church. Located at 6770 Monaco St, Commerce City, CO 80022.
