

Marion Louise Olsen, born September 29th, 1938 in Hempstead, Long Island, NY passed away on October 1st, 2020 at the age of 82. Marion suffered from Alzheimer’s disease and passed away at her daughter’s home in Commerce City, CO with her family and caregivers by her side.
Marion (Matthews) married Edward Moran on May 31st, 1958 in NY. They were married for 24 years and had three children, Kenneth, Tracey, and Jill. Marion later married Arthur (Olie) Olsen on September 29, 1998 at their home on LI. With this marriage came four step-daughters, Susan, Cindy, Sandra, and Candi.
Marion was a stay at home mom for her three children. She loved reading, dancing, and being active. Marion and Olie spent their retirement years between Plain City, Utah and Bonita Springs, Florida and developed great friendships that lasted through the years. They spent their time dancing, dining out, playing tennis, golfing and visiting family and friends. Marion and Olie enjoyed going to ball games and rodeos to cheer on family and friends. They made many great memories in the Caribbean at St. Martin’s and at Wolf Creek, in the Utah mountains. Everyone who knew Marion and Olie could attest to their zest for life and fun. They had generous hearts and were always willing to help anyone in need.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents, George and Dorothea Matthews, her husband, Arthur (Olie) Olsen, one sister, Lois Homis, brother’s in law, Jim Cox, Bob Bigwood, and James Grubel, Bob and Ethel Richards and grandson, Julian “Robert” Rodriguez.
Marion is survived by her children, Kenneth P (Jenniene) Moran, Tracey E (David) Simkowiak, and Jill (Julian) Rodriguez; step-daughters, Susan (Randy) Hale, Cindy Zaino, Sandra Holmes, and Candi (Vinnie) Yatsinko. She is also survived by two sisters, Dorothea “Joan” Wright and Carol Bigwood, as well as her brother and sister-in-law George & Joan Matthews; sister-in-law Loretta Grubel, first husband Edward (Charlotte) Moran; one granddaughter, Tiffany (Leroy) McVey and a grandson, John (Maureen) Distasio. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and step grandchildren.
