Mary Florence Bannon

August 7, 1931January 9, 2018

Mary Florence Bannon of Denver CO was born to Henry E. Cook and Edna V. Cook on August 7, 1931 and passed away on January 9, 2018 at the age of 86. She is survived by her children Larry Bannon, Earlene Jones, Catherine Reid, Calvin Bannon Jr, Elaine Bannon, Kenneth Bannon, Juliana Bannon and Aaron Bannon. As well as a brother, 36 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends who love her dearly. She was preceded in death by 2 siblings, her husband Calvin Bannon, her parents and 2 of her daughter's, Sharon Kay and Kelepha LaShelle Bannon. Mary was born and raised in Wiggins, CO and graduated from Wiggins High School. She moved to Denver and raised her children alone after the death of their father in December 1977. She was a housewife and nurturer. She loved people, especially children. Her grandchildren were the apples of her eye. Everyone that met her loved her and she instantly became mom and grandma to the masses. She loved God and was a woman of great faith. Her church home has been Landmark Tabernacle Pentecostal Church since the late 1970’s. She loved her pastor and sisters and brothers in the Lord. She danced, sang and shouted at church and at home until she no longer could. Now she'll dance on streets of gold. She will be greatly missed and remain forever in our hearts.

A funeral service for Mary will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Landmark Tabernacle Church, 2727 South Sheridan Blvd, Lakewood, Colorado. Interment at Olinger Highland Cemetery.

My sweet granny, it has been three years and yet it still feels like yesterday in my heart! I now have a granddaughter and will be having another grandson who is due on your birthday! A couple more days! I miss you so much and think about you every single day! I wish you were here to hold Meara and Mateo and kiss their foreheads and smell their hair like you did with all of us! I love you and miss you so, so much! My heart will never recover! Your Yawnas

Grandma if you’re reading this than you know I love you more than anything in this world. I’m sorry I’ve been gone so long and never found my way back but I’m sure you know how it goes from all corners of the lawn haha I just wish you and mom were here to lead me because I was born with your strength . Rest In Peace and know that I always think about you ! I miss the kisses on my forehead when we’d meet at church and the eyes were so promising you didn’t have to say a word and I believed you . I love you
