IN LOVING MEMORY of Mary E. Burke November 10, 1953 – January 5, 2020

Mary was born in Racine, Wisconsin to Robert and Virginia Olson and was the second of two children. Mary graduated from Adams City High School in Commerce City, Colorado in 1971 and went on to attend and work at Front Range Community College in Westminster, Colorado. Mary continued with the work force and was employed at Saint Anthony’s Central Hospital where she worked in the Pulmonary Department for several years. Mary left to pursue her dream of starting her own medical transcription business “Perfection for Pennies.” She married her husband Larry A. Burke on May 20, 1972. Together they welcomed four boys (Brent, Vincent (d1976), Gary and Ryan) who became the center of their universe. Mary would spend most of her weekends on the sidelines of soccer fields or in the bleachers at baseball fields where she took on the tasks for three teams which meant taking on an additional 60 boys as Team Mom, Team Doctor, Coordinator and Coaches Wife. Mary loved being a mother and the only thing she enjoyed more, was being a grandmother to her eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 48 years Larry A. Burke. Children: Brent A. Burke (Ricka), Gary W. Burke (April) and Ryan R. Burke (Brittani). Grandchildren: Jennifer (Joel), Jeffrey, Robert (Amber), Tyler, Blake, Caleb, Brayden and Brooklyn. Great Grandchildren: Mia, Keegan, Marcus and Braxton. Brother: Joe Olson. Nieces/Nephews: Kandi (Kyle), Billy (Shelagh) and Kacey (Rick) and their combined eight children.

Mary is proceeded in death by her parents: Robert D. and Virginia Olson, In-Laws: William C. and Mary S. Burke and son: Vincent L. Burke.

A reception will be held at 11247 Joliet Street, Henderson, Colorado 80640 following the Comittal Service.

I will always the days when Mary and myself would walk with Mary's mother up the street to get books from the Bookmobile at Buddy & Lloyds. Mary was an excellent reader, unlike myself that could not read that well. When we got back to her house, Mary would read to me while we set in the back of her dad's pickup. Sometimes her mother Virginia would fix us something to eat. The neighborhood kids would always play Hide-and seek out of Mary and Joe's house. In 1966 Mary was my best friend when I ended up in Children's Hospital for two months. Doctors thought I had meningitis and my parents and Mary had to have shots to protect them. It ended up to be mononucleosis. I always felt bad about that, but she was the trooper. God bless the Burke/Olson family during this time. Mary was a true winner, and I will always remember and miss her.

Dear Burke Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Mary's passing. Please know I am sending you my deepest sympathy and prayers!
Thank you so much for posting the hundreds of pictures of your beautiful family! I loved seeing the generations of your family captured in truly special moments. The closeness of your family is a true testament of the love and devotion from Larry and Mary and, of course, their parents.
I will never forget my one-on-one conversations with Mary during the many, many family gatherings we had as I was growing up. She always made an effort to take me away from the hustle and bustle of the event to catch up on whatever was new in my life. She always made me feel cared for.
Always cherish your memories of her, as I certainly will.
With all my love, Your cousin (and the flower girl at 6 years old in your wedding picture ;-) Tammy

Oh, Burke family,
What a pleasure to have known your Mary! I saw her last year shopping with Larry, of course for Christmas presents for the grandkids. We had the great fortune to have Larry coach our son Tony. So we got to be a soccer family with all of you. As the good Lord would have it, Nick and Tony were able to visit with Mary a few days prior to her passing. We will keep you all in our in prayers.

To my good, loving friend, Mary. You were taken away from us way,too soon. I will always remember our good times together. We had a lot of them....about 33 years of them. We made thru the bad times and found some way to have a laugh about it later!! Mary, your free 🕊now, no more headaches, pain, oxygen and no more walker. You will forever be etched in my heart....I am sure going to miss you. I love you. ❤️ Marsha

Mary and I grew up together and ended up living on the same block as young wives.
We visited and talked about our children often. Some phone calls lasted 2 hours plus.
She loved her family above all else and was devoted, with Larry, to raise three great sons.
She will be greatly missed.
RIP my dear friend.
