Mary C Kresnik

Mary C Kresnik, age 76, of Northglenn, Colorado passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020. Mary was born May 5, 1944 in Sioux City, Iowa, to Kenneth and Dorothy Smith. She was the second born of three children; her sisters Judy and Jennifer. Mary is a direct descendent of Sitting Bull, Lakota Sioux.
The first time Mary met her husband, John Kresnik, was at a mortuary in South Sioux City, Nebraska. They later married in Denver, Colorado on May 20, 1977. Together they worked to create a house full of love. Mary and John had two sons and three adopted daughters-Susan, Brad, Michael, Tiffany, Megan and Kenny. She also had eleven grandchildren and three great grand children-Zoe, Anna, Joseph, Matthew, Mia, Taylor, Charlee, Kiley, Bryce, Adrian and Kenneth. Her children and grandchildren were her closest friends and she loved to snuggle with all her grandchildren when they took naps. Mary was a loving and caring mother, who's family always came first.
During her lifetime she was known and will be remembered for being a considerate person as well as her big heart, filled with kindness and generosity. In 2001, Mary received "Citizen of the Year" from Adams County and "Businessman of the Year" from President Bush. She also was a Foster Parent, who took care of 381 foster/daycare kids, most of whom were disabled. She retired in 2001, due to her health, after 31 years of being a Foster Parent.
Mary was deeply religious, loving music and going to concerts. Her favorite scripture being Psalm 23. Along with enjoying listening to music, she was a gifted piano player as well.
A committal service for Mary will be held Friday, October 30, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229. A cremation will occur.
