

Morey (Maurice) Lee Stadel, 81, of Thornton, Colorado passed away Wednesday, January 29th, 2025. He was born in Mobridge, South Dakota on March 28th, 1943, to Herold and Ida (Kulm) Stadel. They lived in Akaska, South dakota and as a child Morey helped with the family businesses of small town grocery store and blacksmith shop. He also helped his father when he started his electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and heating business. Morey attended grade school in Akaska and high school in Selby, South Dakota. After school he served in the Army.
Morey moved to Colorado to attend Denver auto tech school. He married Wanda Anthony and had six stepchildren. Sandra, Rhonda, Mark, Violet, James, and Melody. They were blessed with grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family lived in Thornton, Colorado their entire married life.
Morey worked for Continental Airlines for over 20 years for the city of Thornton. He enjoyed working on automobiles and motorcycles in his garage. He was always happy to take any mechanical questions from friends needing help. The motorcycle club was an important part of his life.
Morey is preceded in death by his parents, wife Wanda, brother Freddie (infant), and stepdaughters Rhonda and Melody. He is survived by his stepchildren Sandra, Mark James, Violet, grandchildren and great grandchildren, brothers Paul (jolene) Stadel and Tim (Mary) Stadel, and sister Annette Koch.
