

Alice Maxine Stewart, 100, of Broomfield, CO passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, March 21, 2021. Maxine was born February 27, 1921 in Ft. Collins, CO to Glenn and Carrie Rundle. Maxine married Elmer Stewart November 19, 1942 in Denver, CO. Together they had two sons, Ralph and Russell.
Maxine and Elmer founded Stewart Woodworking in 1952 located in Denver, CO. In 1957 they moved the business and changed the name to Consolidated Hardwoods and it was incorporated in 1980. And continues as Broomfields oldest business. Maxine was always helping her husband and sons at the “shop” and did the bookkeeping all the way up into her 90’s. Maxine was loved by so many and will be missed.
She is survived by her son, Russell Stewart and his wife, Laura; her four grandchildren, Renee (Troy) Del Ross, Rusty Stewart, Carly (Victor) Canchola and Lacey (Corben) Reid. She also had 6 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Glenn and Carrie Rundle; her brother, Earl Rundle; her sister, Louise Spindle; her husband, Elmer Stewart; and her son, Ralph Stewart.
A viewing for Maxine will be held at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery at 10201 Grant St. Thornton, CO 80229 on April 2nd from 5-8pm. There will be a funeral service held on April 3rd at 1pm.
After the funeral service on Saturday we will be getting together at Broomfield Fraternal Order of Eagles, 7650 W 120th Ave Broomfield, CO 80020. Food and drinks will be served.
