Melvin Woolsey, retired truck driver of Henderson, Colorado, passed away on October 3, 2021 surrounded by his loving children. Mel was born November 9, 1947 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He is the son of the late Kathleen and Fred Woolsey.
Mel's life was a blessing. He had the ability to change the lives of others and he used that ability to its fullest. He inspired those that knew him to live a sober life and live their best life.
Mel enjoyed many things during his time here with us. When around the house, he enjoyed reading Louis Lamour books and entertaining his lovely cat, Mrs. Beasley. His favorite things to do were to go out with his son to shoot guns, and gather water from Eldorado Springs for his daughters and his dear friend, Carolyn. He enjoyed reminiscing about Iowa corn-fed beef and always had a good joke to share.
His stories will forever be with us and he will be in our hearts and thoughts always.
Melvin is survived by his daughter, Veronica (Alex) MacLagan; grandsons, Joshua, Stephen and Philip; and great granddaughter, Kaylee. His son, Gary (Lynette) Murray; grandchildren, Micah, Jasmine (Elliot), Shekinah (Jordan), Chelsae and Jacobi (Jack); great grandchildren, Leili, Niam, Ezra, Easley, J.J., Elianai, Roman, Selena, Neriah, Lanai. His daughter, Stefanie Jenkins; grandchildren, Jonathan Murray and Ashley (Chris) Zachary; greatgrandchildren, Hunter, Kimber, Zayla and Kamryn. His siblings, Scott (Candy) Woolsey, Carolyn Woolsey, David (Penny) Woolsey and John Woosley; nieces, Juanita (Adolfo) Benavides and Jody Woolsey; nephew, Sam; great nieces and nephews, Travis, Amanda, Alexis, and Xavier. Melvin is preceded in death by his parents, and nephews, Jerry, Gino and Johnny.
