Michael Kenneth McKown was born on April 14th, 1947 in Santa Barbara, CA and passed away peacefully in his home in Northglenn, CO on October 24, 2018. He spent his childhood in Deer Lodge, MT surrounded by a large extended family including his three sisters, Carole Olson, Judith Wood and Laura Rundle. Michael enlisted in the United States Air Force in September of 1967 and served two tours in Vietnam. He retired as a Sr. Master Sargent in the intelligence field in 1987. After retiring from the Air Force, Michael enjoyed a second career as a teacher and drug and alcohol counselor. Michael had many passions in life, some of which included, history, coin collecting, his roses and his faithful Golden Retriever, JD. Michael is survived by his two daughters, Crystal Stueve and Kimberly Barbich as well as his four teenaged grandchildren, Katerina and Logan Barbich and Patrick and Miles Stueve. He is also survived by three sisters and a large extended family.
